Public meeting on gypsy site.

FINAL preparations are being made for a public meeting on the impact of an unauthorised gypsy camp on the edge of a South Wales village.

The camp on the outskirts of Sully was set up in January last year and has been the focus for heated debate in the village.

Some villagers say urgent action is needed to close the camp down, while others say there are other more pressing problems to deal with.

Vale council officers have warned of legal problems should the camp be closed before an official camp for travellers is established in the Vale.

The public meeting will be held at the Old School, South Road, Sully, tonight, at 7.45pm.
