Provision of emergency escape trainers.

Contract notice: provision of emergency escape trainers for merlin and puma aircraft.

Training simulators. Joint Helicopter Command (JHC) has a requirement for the supply of 2 helicopter Emergency Escape Trainers to improve the pre-flight training given to personnel travelling in the Merlin and Puma aircraft. The aim of the trainer is to save lives during an emergency egress from the helicopter.

The selected design is expected to last for at least 10 years, require minimal maintenance, be road transportable, be able to withstand an annual training throughput of 10 000 personnel and accurately reflect the internal layout and dimensions of the actual aircraft. Safety features such as seats, harnesses, lighting, doors and access points should also be representative of the actual aircraft. The potential contractor will be expected to liaise with JHC Headquarters~ Staff in scoping the exact requirement. Emergency Escape Trainers for other aircraft types are available for reference and have utilised an ISO container; however, other innovative designs will be considered. An
