Providence, Rhode Island Offers Summer Getaway Package; New Attractions and Restaurants Enhance the Deal.

The Providence Warwick Convention and Visitors Bureau (PWCVB) launched the 2004 Summer Getaway Package. Perfect for travelers looking to enjoy a few nights stay in Rhode Island's Renaissance capital, the package uniquely allows guests to tailor their itinerary while experiencing some of Rhode Island's best hotels, restaurants, shops, and attractions. Valid through August 31, 2004, the 2004 Summer Getaway Package welcomes new participants in the effort to enhance the visitor experience, offering discount hotel accommodations, attraction vouchers, 15% discounts at select restaurants and retailers, a complimentary R.I. gift bag, RIPTA trolley passes, and a free coupon book for premium outlet savings.

Packages may be purchased by calling your hotel of choice and mentioning the Providence Warwick CVB's Getaway Package. Participating hotels include the Christopher Dodge House, Courtyard Marriott Providence, Holiday Inn Providence, Marriott Providence, Providence Biltmore Hotel, Radisson Hotel Providence, State House Inn, and Westin Providence, AAA Jacob Hill Inn Seekonk, Comfort Inn Pawtucket, Crowne Plaza at the Crossings, Holiday Inn, Tauton, Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Warwick, Johnson & Wales Inn Seekonk, and the Radisson Airport Hotel.

Participating attractions are Blithewold Mansion, Gardens & Arboretum, Conway - Banner Trail Trolley Tours, Feinstein IMAX Theatre, Museum of Natural History and Planetarium, Newport Vineyards, Rhode Island Historical Society SummerWalks, Roger Williams Park Zoo, Audubon Society Environmental Education Center, Governor Henry Lippitt House Museum, John Brown House Museum, Linden Place Mansion and Museum, Museum of Work and Culture, Museum of Art at the Rhode Island School of Design, Russian Submarine Museum, Sakonnet Vineyards and Winery, and A Living History Museum at Slater Mill.

Dining options range from upscale to the local pubs or family restaurants, featuring cuisines of many different ethnicities. Restaurants offering a 15% discount to package patrons include Angelo's Civita Farnese, Audrey's Restaurant, Black Swan Restaurant, Blake's Tavern, Cassarino's Restaurant, Euro Bistro, Ground Round Grill & Bar, Murphy's Deli & Bar, Remington's, Trinity Brewhouse, and Viola's Italian Bistro.

Retailers offering 15% shopping discounts include Garbolino and OOP!, as well as Wrentham Village Premium Outlets' free coupon book worth hundreds of dollars in additional savings.
