Byline: Hafiz Aziz-ur-Rehman

HAFIZABAD -- President Kisan Board Aman Ullah Chattha called upon the government to ensure construction of protective embankment on the left bank of River Chenab to save the villagers from the onslaught of likely flood in River Chenab.

He said that due to lack of protective band on the left bank of river Chenab near Qadirabad Barrage, flash flood in River Chenab had damaged crops and houses in different villages last year. He regretted that about six month back the authorities had ordered construction of embankment on the left bank but unfortunately construction had not yet started.

He demanded that construction of the bank should be started on emergency basis otherwise there would be colossal loss to the crops and properties.
