International conference in Lake District aims to tackle key challenges facing lakes: 18-21 May 2009 Low Wood Hotel, Lake Windermere, Cumbria

Jointly hosted by the Environment Agency and the Lake District National Park this conference brings together senior decision makers and opinion formers from all over the world. The event is aimed at anyone who cares passionately about the impact people have on lake environments through their work and daily lives. It will look at all aspects of life in, on, around and close to lakes. Keynote speakers include:

* Rt Hon Lord Chris Smith of Finsbury--Chairman, Environment Agency


* Jerry Taft--Mayor of Invermere, Canada

* Bryan Gray, CBE--Chair, Northwest Regional Development Agency

* Eric Robson--Chair, Cumbria Tourism
