Prosecute mutilators; VIEWS.

FEMALE genital mutilation has been illegal in this country since 1985 and yet not one person has ever been prosecuted for this practice. Why is that exactly? If a rabbi botches a circumcision, he is rightly brought to book.

It now transpires that Heartlands Hospital has treated 640 girls who were victims of the barbaric practice of FGM. Why hasn't the hospital notified the police? I think we all know the answer to that one. It really wouldn't be good form to go against someone else's culture, would it? Gunshot wounds are notifiable, so why isn't this? Pat Allen, Pype Hayes
