Norwegian-controlled Cyprus-based rigs and support vessels operator Prosafe SE said on Thursday (7 February) that it has received a letter of intent for a contract for its accommodation support rig Safe Bristolia from Nexen Petroleum UK Limited.
The proposed contract covers six months of support work at the offshore facility Buzzard in the UK North Sea, and is valued at approximately USD61m.
The contract is expected to commence in April 2010.
Prosafe, headquartered in Larnaca, Cyprus, is the owner and operator of semi-submersible service rigs and floating production and storage vessels. The company has 1,400 employees. Prosafe is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange and traded under the ticker PRS.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.99 US dollars (USD).
