Property consultancy launches in Teesside.

ROBERTSON Simpson Limited has expanded its North-east network with the establishment of an office in Stockton, the firm's third office in the region. The property consultancy, which already has offices in Gateshead and Sunderland, will be based at Surtees Business Centre on Preston Farm Business Park and is looking to create up to six new positions at its Teesside operation within the next 12 months. The Stockton office will be headed up by Matthew Clarke who joined Robertson Simpson last year having previously spent more than 12 years at Sanderson Weatherall. Matthew will work alongside founder and managing director of the business Mark Robertson to develop the firm's offering in the area and capitalise upon business opportunities in the marketplace. Matthew said: "There has been increasing demand from our clients for us to have a presence in Teesside and the Stockton office will provide us with a base from which to service existing customers but also to take advantage of new opportunities that exist within the region.

"We will be looking to service the area that runs down the A19 corridor from County Durham, through Teesside and into North Yorkshire and our focus for the coming months will be on building the reputation of the firm and growing the team in Stockton." Mark added: "Our teams in Gateshead and Sunderland have seen a period of rapid expansion in recent months and despite many firms within the property sector continuing to find the market conditions difficult, we have seen strong and continued growth across all areas of the business. "The establishment of our third office comes at a time when we are investing heavily in our team and strengthening our offering by recruiting individuals of the highest level." The team has been boosted by the recent arrival of Emma Turnbull as a senior chartered valuation surveyor and business valuer.

Emma joins Robertson Simpson from Pinders Property Consultants where she spent eight years undertaking, primarily, business and trading related valuations for loan security purposes on behalf of most major banks and financiers.

Emma has 16 years' experience in the licensed and trade valuation sector having previously worked at Chesterton plc and Vaux Group plc as an area estates manager. She said: "This is a very significant and exciting time to be joining the team at Robertson Simpson as it has seen exceptional growth over the last 12 months. "I am looking forward to building close relationships with the clients, many of whom I am already familiar with and using my wealth of experience to help develop the offering and reputable service that we already provide to banks and financiers, together with corporate organisations and individuals within the North-east region and beyond."

According to Mark, the opening of the firm's Stockton office and further expansion of the team are an indication of Robertson Simpson's intentions over the coming year which will see more offices established in key strategic locations with Yorkshire and the North-west earmarked as potential office locations in the next few months. He added: "Emma demonstrates the calibre of individual that we are looking for to join our team, and her impressive knowledge and reputation in the industry will have a definite impact as we look to build on the success of the previous year. "In looking to the future, it is clear that there is the opportunity to open at least one additional office within the first half of 2013.

"We plan to create new jobs and bring in further staff members that will enhance the high standards of service that we already offer across our client base which is continuing to grow month on month."

Robertson Simpson was established by Mark Robertson in 2002 and employs 25 members of staff across its three offices making it one of the region's leading independent property consultancies.
