Property Rights Program.
Description : USAID s Property Rights Program (PRP) is a four-year initiative that aims to address challenges to claiming property rights in Kosovo by assisting local authorities in developing a plan for the stabilization of the property rights regime. The program will work in partnership with the Government of Kosovo, selected municipalities, and other relevant local and international stakeholders.
Together with the EU, the program will assist the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) to develop a property reform strategy and amend existing property-related legislation.
The program will support the Ministry to own and direct the property reform process and coordinate the EU and other donors support to the MOJ and property reform with technical inputs from line ministries and agencies to avoid duplication of efforts and maximize development impacts.
PRP supports the following objectives:
Better coordination and setting of policy priorities in the area of property rights in close cooperation with the relevant stakeholders;
Improved court processes related to property claims;
Enhanced ability for women to exercise their property rights in practice; and
Greater access to information and understanding of property rights.
