Proms in the Park returns.
BBC Wales announced yesterday that the Proms will take place at the Owain Glyndwr Playing Fields - coinciding with the muchanticipated curtain call event at the Royal Albert Hall.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 8, and will be led by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and run in association with Caerphilly Council.
Presenters and artists will be announced at a later date, organisers said.
The evening will culminate with fireworks and the traditional last night medley of sing-a-long numbers.
The director of BBC Wales, Rhodri Talfan Davies, said: "BBC Proms in the Park is an important occasion in our diary and I'm pleased that it will take place in the shadow of Caerphilly's magnificent medieval castle.
"The BBC National Orchestra of Wales performs across Wales and beyond, and I'm certain they will light up the stage with a memorable evening of music."
Anthony O'Sullivan, chief executive of Caerphilly Council, said: "We are honoured to have the opportunity to once again host this prestigious musical event here in Caerphilly.
"I am confident visitors to the BBC Proms in the Park will receive a very warm Caerphilly welcome."
