Promenix' Application Integration Methodology(TM) Provides a

Process for Understanding and Implementing Enterprise Integration

Application (EAI) Projects

Promenix, Inc., a leading systems integrator focused on EAI for Fortune 500 companies, announced today it has filed, on January 1, 2000, the first patent application for the new millennium, covering Promenix' Application Integration Methodology(TM).

Promenix' Application Integration Methodology is a unique, comprehensive methodology targeted specifically for EAI. Promenix developed this unique methodology to ensure that the entire end-to-end process of EAI can be carried out to successful completion.

Application Integration Methodology(TM) focuses on the process of integration rather than specific technologies. EAI and related e-commerce integration projects can be broken down into a series of phases and tracks that organize the effort into manageable components.

Technology-specific activities are addressed at detailed levels of the methodology only after the supporting activities and tasks have been identified and carried out.

"There are many companies looking to do EAI and e-commerce projects that do not know where to begin", said Vincent Cyr, CEO for Promenix. "In addition, they have been lead to believe by some of the software vendors that the solution magically comes out of a box. In reality, there is a lot of work that still must be done. Our methodology helps in the identification, organization, and execution of this work".

"It is important that a consistent process is followed by everyone on the project to ensure that no steps are missed as the solution is developed", said Matt Franklin, Director of Integration for Promenix. "Once the essential higher level components are organized, the methodology addresses specific details by incorporating tools, templates, and other components for specific technologies."

"Using Application Integration Methodology(TM) of Promenix with EAI products such as IBM's MQSeries and MQSeries Integrator, as well as other integration brokers, results in a greater understanding of EAI and the benefit EAI can bring to organizations", said William Fabian, CIO for a Fortune 500 electronics manufacturer.

The Application Integration Methodology(TM) consists of phases and tracks designed to cover all of the aspects of an EAI project. Imbedded into each phase are tools, templates, and project accelerators designed to speed the EAI process. The phases include:

Planning & Estimating: used to determine business objectives, project scope, and resource requirements as well as establishing the necessary processes and guidelines to ensure consistency in the development process.

Analysis & Design: used to determine functional and technical specifications, business and technical dependencies, and initial EAI environment.

Build & Test: used to assemble and develop EAI components and test them in an integrated environment to ensure the solution meets business and technical requirements.

Go-live & Production Support: used to take the project into a productive environment and establish a stable, supportable, and maintainable system.

Application Integration Methodology(TM) is provided at no additional charge to customers engaging Promenix for their EAI services.
