Project status Abu Dhabi Naitonal Oil Company (Adnoc) has moved ahead with developing sour gas as high oil prices have made the project commercially viable and domestic gas demand has jumped in recent years. On November 1, 2010, Adnoc shortlisted ExxonMobil, Shell and Occidental Petroleum for the developer BOO contract.

Project scope The Onshore Shah Sour Gas Filed Development has been divided into 10 packages.

Project structure Adnoc will form a joint venture company with an IOC for the Shah sour gas field development. Shareholdings will be Adnoc 60 per cent and IOC 40 per cent.
