Profits on Wayne; your money.
HOLIDAY companies are bracing themselves for a slump in bookings next year as football fans stay glued to the World Cup.
England are one of the favourites to lift the trophy in South Africa, and fans will stay put to watch Wayne Rooney and co on TV, says Travel Trade Gazette.
The industry bible also warns of higher prices for summer holidays as operators cut the number of breaks for sale. A similar move this year pushed up the average cost of a sunshine break by pounds 26 to pounds 564.
TTG said: "Prices will go up even as demand slackens, and weaker firms will go to the wall."
