Production cut back.
Officials with Bowater Inc. have announced the company will cut back on market pulp production capacity by 12 per cent, or about 30,000 tonnes, in the first three months of the year to adjust inventories.The announcement deals only with kraft pulp, not newsprint.
Bowater Inc. has nine pulp and paper mills in the United States, Canada and South Korea. Its Thunder Bay mill has approximately 1,300 full-time employees and produces an annual average of 500,000 tonnes of kraft pulp.
