PC to PC Communications Plus Fax Management and Internet Tools

Quarterdeck Corporation (Nasdaq:QDEK), the world's leading provider of PC helpware solutions, today announced telecommuters and mobile professionals can easily work at home, on the road, or virtually anywhere using Procomm Plus, the Company's all-in-one PC communications package.

Procomm's remote control features offer telecommuters speedy, reliable access to office PCs, while its comprehensive fax management, dependable data terminal emulations, and Internet tools assure mobile professionals have everything they need to communicate.

"Customers could end up spending over $300.00 if they purchase remote control, fax, and data terminal packages separately," said Mike Modugno, product manager at Quarterdeck Corporation. "However, in a single package , Procomm Plus provides mobile professionals and telecommuters with all three of these essential communications solutions, including Internet tools, for about half of that price."

Access an Office PC From Anywhere

Mobile professionals and telecommuters can quickly and easily access programs and files on their office PC from home or virtually anywhere using Procomm's robust remote control solution, RapidRemote. RapidRemote offers numerous connection options including TAPI-compliant modems or ISDN devices and TCP/IP networks such as the Internet and corporate remote access servers. Users can also take advantage of RapidRemote's SmartWizards which simplify the setup and connection process, and its high-speed file transfers which allow automatic directory and file transfer synchronization and delta file transfers.

Essential Communications Tools

In addition to remote control, Procomm Plus offers fully-featured faxing capabilities, reliable PC-to-host connections, and a wealth of Internet tools -- everything today's telecommuter and mobile professional needs to communicate. Also, Procomm's single, intuitive interface instantly accesses data, fax and voice numbers, Internet e-mail, Web, Telnet and FTP addresses, and news groups.

Advanced Fax Management At Your Fingertips

Procomm's built-in Fax Manager offers more than the ability to simply send and receive faxes -- it provides complete fax management. Mobile professionals can convert a fax image into a word processor format or ASCII text, zoom, rotate, or straighten out crooked faxes, eliminate "speck marks," add images or a scanned signature to a fax, annotate or highlight key information before sending a fax, send a broadcast fax, schedule fax transmissions, and even design their own cover sheets.

The Most Reliable PC-to-Host Connections

Professionals on the road demand dependable access to corporate host systems. With Procomm, anyone from anywhere can connect to and access information from host resources. Procomm offers 36 of the most popular asynchronous terminal emulations, 11 file transfer protocols, keyboard remapping, and even Telnet support. Also, Procomm's powerful ASPECT scripting automation simplifies the connection process -- users just point, click, and connect.

Key Internet Tools

Mobile professionals and telecommuters can also tap into the

Internet with Procomm's wealth of Internet tools. Procomm Plus is equipped with Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser, Internet e-mail, News Reader, FTP, and Telnet. An easy-to-use Internet Configuration SmartWizard helps mobile professionals create an Internet dial-up connection or simply use an existing Internet Service Provider account.
