Procera Networks offers new mid-range DPI platform.

TELECOMWORLDWIRE-28 October 2008-Procera Networks offers new mid-range DPI platform(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Procera Networks Inc (AMEX: PKT), a developer of Evolved Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) solutions, said yesterday (27 October) that the next generation of the company's mid-range PacketLogic suite of DPI platforms, the PL7720, is now available.

The PL7000 series is the mid-range set of offerings in a range of products led by the carrier-grade PL10000 series. Like the PL10000, the PL7720 leverages PacketLogic's traffic identification engine, DRDL.

The configurable PL7720 replaces the single-channel PL7600 and the dual-channel PL7620 and it is designed for access network deployments like implementation with the CMTS in a cable TV network.

Configurable for either single or dual channels and provisioned on a 2RU chassis, the PL7720 provides real-time traffic monitoring, statistics reporting, bandwidth management, layer-7 filtering and per-user service creation. It has a modular design, with front-mounted components like network interfaces, hard drives and power supplies, allowing for simplified field replacements and future upgrades as needed. The PL7720 comes with standard dual power supplies and dual hard disk drives in a RAID configuration.

No pricing details were announced.
