Problem kids clue.

Byline: JUSTINE SMITH

MOTHERS who suffer anxiety during pregnancy are more likely to have children with emotional and behavioural problems.

A new study found women who are stressed out at 18 or 32 weeks had a three times greater chance of this happening.

Dr Thomas O'Connor from the Institute of Psychiatry said there were "strong links" to show the baby's brain was affected.

Boys suffered hyperactivity by the age of four and both sexes had emotional and behavioural problems.

The study focused on Avon in 1991 and 1992.
