Print Server Brings Power Of Central Printing To Electronic Forms

UWI Unisoft Adds UWI Masque(TM) Print Server To Its E-Forms Solution

VICTORIA, British Columbia, Aug. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Users of UWI Masque(TM) business forms software can now save time and money by printing through the UWI Masque Print Server v.1.1.0 betal. UWI Unisoft Wares Inc. today released this product for UWI Masque users who want to send large print jobs to a central location. This print server -- which is a CGI script that runs off an http server -- complements the whole suite of electronic forms software developed by UWI Unisoft.

UWI Masque business forms help intranet users reduce costs, save time and simplify the processing of paper forms. Now users of the UWI Masque Universal Forms Viewer -- a helper application for web browsers -- can enjoy the viewer's regular printing features along with the printing flexibility provided by the UWI Masque Print Server.

Without the print server, form data and form presentation can still be saved and printed to a local printer, but because these jobs are sent individually, this is only practical for smaller print jobs. Users who regularly send large jobs to a network printer will welcome this addition to the suite of UWI Masque products.

Among the features of the Print Server is the control it gives to system administrators who want to monitor the printing procedures in an office environment. Using the UWI Masque Print Server, a print-approval process can be easily built into any system. This is an important feature to those businesses who wish to reduce the number of expensive internal color print- outs, or for those who wish to charge customers for such print jobs.

Another important tool of the Print Server is the ability to use form templates. With templates, developers can design forms with two appearances: one design that can be viewed by the person filling out the form and another design that appears on the form that is printed out. This is helpful to people who want to take full advantage of electronic form objects (pop-up menus, scroll bars, etc.) at the user's end, but who want their printed forms to more closely resemble the original paper forms.

The complete UWI Masque forms solution allows users to save and print form data, helps developers tailor forms to different department's needs and layout preferences, and creates a cleaner, more professional form for use within a web browser. The UWI Masque Print Server builds upon this solution by bringing back end printing capabilities to users of electronic forms.
