Prices in Ramazan bazaar keenly observed: Minister.
LAHORE -- Minister for Excise and Taxation Punjab (ETP) Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman on Wednesday said that officers are visiting Ramazan bazaars in various cities of the province and checked quality, prices and proper supply of essential food items.
He expressed these views during inspection being Incharge Minister of 27 Ramazan bazaars in Lahore District.
He said that on the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif and other Ministers the efforts of provincial government essential quality food items are available in Ramazan bazaars comparatively at less prices than market.
He said that Punjab government has provided Rs.3.5 billion subsidy for Ramazan bazaars so that essential food items could be provided at cheaper rate to the citizens.
He said that price control magistrates have been assigned the jobs to ensure the availability of quality food items at less rates.
Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman directed the administration of Ramazan bazaars to ensure continuous supply of food and other necessary items in Ramazan bazaars as well as to install air coolers, fans, due to hot season.
He also inspected the clean atmosphere in Ramazan bazaars. The Minister himself checked the vegetables, fruits, sugar, flour, meat etc. at various stalls in Ramazan bazaars.
Better quality commodities would be ensured in these bazaars and no one would be allowed hoarding, price hike and sale of low quality food items in these bazaars, he concluded.
