Priceless and Rare Items Up for Sale at the ULTIMATE AUCTION Presented by FOX Broadcasting on Dec. 1.
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 13, 2000
On Dec. 1, FOX Broadcasting invites collectors, entrepreneurs, foundations, institutions and auction enthusiasts the world over to participate in the most spectacular auction event ever.
The ULTIMATE AUCTION will bring together the greatest number of high-profile priceless items ever offered for sale at one time.
Confirmed for auction are: Princess Diana's Swan Lake Diamonds, made for the late Princess by the Royal Family's Crown Jeweler; the world's only known fossilized skeleton of the 65-million-year-old bizarre dinosaur known as Pachycephalosaurus wyomingensis ("Pachy"); Vostak 3KA2, the world's first spacecraft designed for human spaceflight to successfully orbit and return to Earth, carrying a dog and a mannequin; the world's only postmarked letter to survive the Titannic, from young survivor Clear Annie Cameron to her sister; the only privately owned handwritten copy of Clement Moore's 177-year-old classic "A Visit from St. Nicholas"; and a private tropical island from FOX. More items will be confirmed this week.
Several items will be auctioned on the condition that the bidder's make them available for public display -- in some cases, for the very first time. Portions of proceeds from certain items are also earmarked for related foundations, charities and public institutions of higher learning or cultural relevance to support their ongoing educational efforts. Several well-known institutions and museums have already expressed interest in some of these items.
While interested participants are encouraged to contact the ULTIMATE AUCTION at 323/876-4174, the instantaneous and global reach of this Dec. 1 event is possible via an Internet alliance with Amazon.com's Live Bid auction technology. Bidders will register in advance through www.livebid.com, and can also participate live on Dec. 1 through this same Web site as an alternative to attending the Los Angeles event. The show itself will air in the United States on FOX Broadcasting on Dec. 7 from 8-10 p.m. ET, and presents the perfect opportunity for an individual or company to make their place in history.
Joe Maddalena, president, Profiles in History, is coordinating the event with Fox Television Studios. He is available for interviews, as are several of the item's owners, including Seth and Myron Kaller and Mike Triebold. Contact Kira Wagner at 323/933-3399 or email@example.com regarding your interest in this epic event.
