Presidential candidates hold first debates on national radio.

Presidential candidates Jenishbek Nazaraliev and Toktaim Umetaliev held the first debates on the radio on July 8.Each presidential candidate was allowed 5 minutes for presentation of his or her election program. Three minutes were allowed for comments of the opponent followed by cross questions.There were no any disputes. The debates were more like a conversation, the opponents supported ideas of each other, the national radio journalists said.Jenishbek Nazaraliev was in Toktogul in the moment of radio debates. He was talking over phone. This is why debates lasted 30 minutes instead of earlier planned 60 minutes. Nazaraliev said he had to go for a meeting with electors and debates ended on this.Kurmanbek Bakiev and Nurlan Motuev were to debate on the radio today. Both candidates refused to attend.Temir Sariev confirmed his attendance, but participation of his opponent Almazbek Atambaev is under question.
