President to participate in European Council in Brussels.

President Nicos Anastasiades will fly to Brussels on Wednesday to participate in the European Council summit, which will discuss inter alia EU security and defence, development and competitiveness, immigration, Digital Europe, and EU external relations.

According to a press release, the EU27 leaders will discuss the adoption of a proposal on the procedure to be followed for the relocation of the European Medicine Agency (EMA) and the European Banking Agency (EBA), after Brexit.

On the sidelines of the summit, Anastasiades will hold bilateral meetings with European Council President Donald Tusk, European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker, French President Emmanuel Macron, UK Prime Minister Theresa May, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, whom he will brief on the latest developments in the Cyprus issue.

The President will be accompanied in Brussels by Government Spokesman Nikos Christodoulides.
