President Bashir: freedom not guarded is valueless.

Khartoum, 12 Oct (SUNA)- The President of the Republic, Omar Bashir, on Wednesday stressed that a freedom that is not protected by a force would remain valueless and that freedom and democracy have to be guarded by an able army and national security. President Bashir has said in an interview organized by the Media committee of the National Dialogue and conducted by veteran journalist Hussein Khogali, said the freedom that Sudanese enjoy should be praised and appreciated. He said one of the most serious mistakes committed was the dissolution of the National Security following the 1986 popular uprising in the Sudan. He said that organ was managed by many able and highly professional people. He said the security bodies should protect people not intimidate them. The president said he was for the responsible freedom that would not turn into chaos. ma/ma
