President Bakiev receives credentials of 7 newly arrived Ambassadors.

The official credentials delivering ceremony took place in the Fireplace Chamber of the Government House on Tuesday, during which Ambassador of Finland Timo Lakhelma, U.S. Ambassador Tatiana K. Gfoeller, Ambassador of Argentina Leopoldo Alfredo Bravo, Malaysian Ambassador Abdul Aziz Bin Kharun, Ambassador of Pakistan Tanvir Khashkeli, Japanese Ambassador Sigeo Natsui, Korean Ambassador Kim Byong-Ho delivered their credentials to President Kurmanbek Bakiev.When presenting their credentials the newly arrived Ambassadors assured the President that they would pay all possible efforts to further strengthen cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in all areas, reported president's press office. In his welcome statement Kurmanbek Bakiev said this ceremony is a good opportunity to assess the state and perspectives of cooperation with the countries, which Ambassadors present their credentials. Kurmanbek Bakiev underlined that the Kyrgyz Republic is set to develop and expand mutually beneficial cooperation with all countries represented by these Ambassadors. "Realizing importance of development of political, cultural and humanitarian contacts, I place my special hopes on intensification of commercial and economic ties. Our country has enough opportunities and conditions for attraction of foreign investors and implementation of the joint projects. I rely upon your active participation in this responsible matter," Kurmanbek Bakiev said. The head of state said Kyrgyzstan is interested in establishment of cooperation with Argentina and speaks for further development of political dialogue for the purpose of encouragement of other areas of cooperation of a mutual concern. President Kurmanbek Bakiev also said the United States is one of the key partners of Kyrgyzstan which is predetermined by the role played by the United States at the international arena. "I am sure that relations between our countries have prerequisites for strengthening balanced bilateral ties in political, commercial realms, as well as attraction of foreign investments built upon equality and mutual benefit principles. Kyrgyzstan is set to continue its active cooperation with the Untied States in fight against international terrorism and other challenges and threats. We look forward to constructive and partnership ties with the future U.S. Administration. We also hope that your country will be able to cope with serious financial difficulties that affect other countries to a certain extent," Kurmanbek Bakiev said. When talking about cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan, President Bakiev expressed his hope that cooperation in all areas of a mutual concern would be promoted, particularly in transport communications and power sectors. "I hope that the new leadership of Pakistan shares our targets to give a new impetus to the bilateral ties for the benefit of our peoples," Bakiev stated. The President also said a special attention is paid to development of mutually beneficial cooperation with friendly Malaysia as one of the leading countries in South East Asia. "Our countries need to make the bilateral relations more dynamic through intensification of political, economic and humanitarian ties, as well as those between businesses," Kurmanbek Bakiev went on. Bakiev described the Kyrgyz-Japanese relations as intensive and content-rich, which seek to intensify economic and humanitarian cooperation, expand inter-parliamentary and inter-departmental ties. "Looking at prospects of bilateral relations with optimism, I am convinced that the two countries have all opportunities for expansion and deepening of cooperation in various formats, including Central Asia + Japan Dialogue," Bakiev said. The President said Kyrgyzstan and Finland have long relations, while the negotiations with current OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Finnish Foreign Minister, during his visit to Kyrgyzstan last July allowed to outline further steps in development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation. Kurmanbek Bakiev took a note of intensive promotion of the Kyrgyz-Korean ties lately. "This is proved by high-level visits and opening of diplomatic missions in the capital cities of our states. We believe that our countries should proceed to realization of cooperation potential in all areas today and are set to pay efforts in this regard," Kurmanbek Bakiev said. At the close of the meeting President Kurmanbek Bakiev assured that the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic would provide all necessary assistance and support in their work.
