President Atambaev signs amendments to constitutional law on status of judges.

President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambaev signed the constitutional law containing amendments and additions to the law on status of judges of the Kyrgyz Republic passed by the Parliament on 28 June 2012, reported the president's press service. The constitutional law is added by the provision that the decision to launch a criminal investigation against a judge is made not only by the Prosecutor General, but also prosecutors of regions, Bishkek and Osh as authorized by the Prosecutor General. The article stipulating that investigation against a judge, restriction of rights of judges is possible only after launch of criminal probe has been removed from the constitutional law.
