Premier holds key talks.

MANAMA: His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa yesterday received, separately, former Japanese Premier Yasuo Fukuda and former Malaysian Premier Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

The Premier stressed the government's keenness to benefit from Japanese expertise, particularly in the fields of industry and technology.

The Premier and Mr Fukuda discussed bilateral relations and growing co-operation following the landmark visits to Japan of His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.

The Premier hailed Japan's support of Bahrain in all fields, stressing the vital role of the Japanese ambassador in promoting co-operation.

Meanwhile, Mr Fukuda hailed Bahrain's development.

During his meeting with the former Malaysian Premier, the Premier stressed the importance of promoting joint work between Islamic states.

He paid tribute to Malaysia for its "unforgettable" stances in support of Bahrain.

He stressed the need to seize political and economic opportunities and called for the activation of bilateral agreements.

He commended strong bilateral ties and steadily-growing co-operation, hailing Mr Badawi's role in promoting it.

Mr Badawi official hailed Bahrain's economic and financial development.
