Pregnant woman in crash.

A PREGNANT woman was taken to hospital following a head-on collision at the junction of Radford Road and Beake Avenue in Coventry last night.

The smash, just before 10pm, involved a Vauxhall Cavalier and a Subaru Impreza.

A second woman was cut free from the wreckage of her car by firefighters from Radford Road.

Station Officer Danny Moynihan said: "We had to take a very softly, softly approach because the paramedics were worried about possible back injuries.

"We used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the whole seat with her on it."

Two other casualties, both men, were treated for minor injuries.
