Pregnant woman dies at a Delhi hospital gate.

A PREGNANT woman died at the gates of a government hospital in Delhi on Friday after doctors allegedly refused to attend to her. The 24- year- old woman Sumar from Bulandshahar in Uttar Pradesh was six months pregnant when she was rushed to Lady Hardinge Medical College and Hospital's OPD for treatment by her relatives.

" The woman reached the hospital at 9 am in an ambulance with an oxygen mask. They approached the OPD and requested doctors to take her to the labour room. " The doctors at the OPD said she should get a hospital card made in the emergency department.

They didn't admit her or treat her because she was not carrying any reports or the discharge summary.

After two hours she died and hospital called the police," said an eye witness.

The patient was under treatment at a hospital in UP which referred her to Delhi without any medical reports or discharge summary.

The Delhi hospital has refused to take responsibility of the incident claiming the patient was brought " dead".
