Precise/MQX RTOS Now Integrated With Eyelet GUI Embedded Graphical Interface.

Precise Software Technologies to Distribute MoJo Designs' Eyelet GUI As

A New Optional Component that is Fully Integrated with the Precise/MQX RTOS

EMBEDDED SYSTEMS CONFERENCE SPRING, CHICAGO, Feb. 28 /PRNewswire/

-- Precise Software Technologies Inc. (Precise), the leader in portable real-time operating system (RTOS) solutions technology, announced today that the Precise/MQX RTOS now has integrated support for the Eyelet GUI embedded graphical interface product from MoJo Designs Inc. By offering

Eyelet GUI as a new optional component with the Precise/MQX RTOS, high-volume products requiring LCD type of displays can now be completely designed using Precise Solution. Precise also announced that it will be distributing and supporting Eyelet GUI as part of its Precise Solution brand name.

Eyelet GUI is the first embedded GUI that is totally independent of desktop interface conventions. Using this embedded GUI, developers can create an interface that leaves the look and feel of the desktop behind.

"Eyelet GUI is the only GUI designed specifically for embedded applications where display space is at a premium," said Craig Honegger, vice president of engineering at Precise. "This unique embedded GUI allows users to develop 'clean' user interfaces, free of desktop conventions, making it ideally suited for small handheld devices such as cellular phones and pagers."

"Precise is the leader in high-end royalty-free solutions for embedded systems software development," said Morgan Jones, president of MoJo Designs. "We share a commitment of providing customers with sound, efficient and cost-effective embedded systems solutions to speed development and lower risk."

"MoJo Designs follows the same royalty-free business model as Precise," said Jeremy James, president & CEO at Precise. "By distributing Eyelet GUI, Precise continues to provide integrated embedded software solutions from a single source, a convenience that Precise customers greatly value."

Eyelet GUI Features, Benefits & Applications

Rather than being a port of a desktop system, Eyelet GUI is one of the first products of its kind developed from the ground up to meet the rigorous demands of embedded systems. In addition to increased reliability, this means the user can maximize the product's interface without being bound by desktop conventions, such as menus and scroll bars. Additionally, because Eyelet GUI uses screen real estate efficiently, the final product can use a smaller screen for a given interface, reducing costs.

The product, which has one of the smallest memory footprints in the industry, allows developers to easily develop interfaces without writing any code, speeding product development.

Eyelet GUI is also one of the most flexible products of its kind. Every element in the interface can be easily customized; every pixel is under the developer's control. The product includes a comprehensive GUI builder, the Windows-based Eyelet Architect, which allows users to develop and modify prototype interfaces without writing any code.

Although the product is appropriate for a wide range of embedded systems, Eyelet GUI is particularly well-suited for touch-screen applications such as medical devices, automotive-information systems and a host of consumer products including digital cameras, information appliances, cellular phones, microwave ovens and VCRs.
