Pre-packaged profile line cuts costs.

A turnkey profile extrusion line costing "up to 15 per cent less than comparable line concepts" has been introduced by Cincinnati Extrusion of Austria in co-operation with another Austrian extrusion specialist, Extrunet.

The Alpha Protech is suitable for an output of up to 150 kg/h in a variety of materials including HDPE, PP, ABS, TPE-S or plasticised PVC using CET's Alpha 45, 60 and 75 single screw extruders, or uPVC dry blend when driven by a Konos 38 or 50 twin screw extruder.

The entire Extrunet downstream line, starting with a 6 m calibration table, can be controlled through a 6 in touch display at the front end of the calibration table. The PLC control system can be operated in six languages and adjusted to customers' needs.

Haul-off can be by belt or caterpillar, both operating with a maximum speed of 20 m/ min. The caterpillar haul-off is recommended for profiles with special contours, since it can be adjusted to the form of the product. The haul-off is followed by a saw with a standard blade of 300 mm and optionally 400 mm in diameter. A PLC-controlled cutting programme enables up to six cut lengths and numbers of units to be pre-set. A tipping device is mounted at the end of the downstream unit.


Optional extras can be tailored to the package and include an additional vacuum pump, a water/air separation tank including vacuum and water pumps, a water treatment system or a saw equipped with a servo drive for higher cutting accuracy.
