Power cuts likely as Norochcholai breaks down again.

The Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy said that there could be an interruption to the electricity supply in parts of the country due to a breakdown of a generator at the Norochcholai coal power plant.

The second generator at the Lakvijaya Norochcholai coal power plant suffered a breakdown this afternoon, the Power and Renewable Energy Ministry said.

The breakdown was as a result of a technical malfunction.

Several breakdowns had occurred at the Norochcholai coal power plant in the past as well.
