Power boost for thespians.

CARDIFF'S Odyssey Theatre is celebrating a new partnership with Western Power Distribution.

The financial support will give the group stability to grow and develop throughout the forthcoming year.

Odyssey Theatre was set up in 1999 by Cardiff-based Hijinx Theatre.

The enterprising community group is made up of adults who all share a desire to perform, including some with learning disabilities.

``It is fantastic to have just started work on our next production, Open Sesame, knowing that our immediate future has been secured by such a supportive and socially aware sponsor,'' said Gaynor Lougher, Odyssey's artistic director.

This year's Christmas extravaganza will be Open Sesame (Ali Baba with the unique Odyssey twist) performed at Chapter Arts Centre from December 4 to 7.
