ALABAMA: Two teenage girls charged with robbery were extraordinarily polite - so polite they got caught.

The girls walked into a shoe store in Birmingham, Alabama, and asked an employee for a pen and paper. One wrote a note, then handed it to the worker, saying, "I'm sorry to do this. You're so nice."

"You came at a bad time," the worker said. "I have a customer to serve."

The would-be robbers offered to wait, so the worker walked to the back of the store and triggered the store's silent alarm system. She then went back to the counter and stalled the suspects until police arrived.
