Portland is among the top 10 US cities leading in use of alternative fuels, according to a San Francisco-based online sustainability resource and knowledge base.

Fifty US cities were surveyed to determine the percentage of city vehicle fleets using alternative fuels, including biodiesel, hydrogen, ethanol and compressed and natural gas, as well as tallying electric and gas-hybrid vehicles. Portland ranked tenth overall.
