Portland ceramics show features local potters.

More than 200 artists will display their work during the Oregon Potters Association's 21st annual Ceramic Showcase next weekend at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland.

Among them will be Eugene potters Hank Murrow, Merry Newcomer, Faye Nakamura, Susan Fishel, Frank Gosar, Steve Daniels, Joe Davis, Mary Hindman, Don King, Tracie Manso, Dan Minard, Faith Rahill, Dona Rennick and Laura and Dave Winkleback.

Also taking part will be Joyce Canan and Leslie Green of Philomath, Greg Tomlinson of Coquille, Gil Harrison of Cottage Grove, Hiroshi Ogawa of Elkton, Karen Russo of Elmira, Julie Fiedler of Florence, Kathryn Finnerty and Thomas Rohr of Pleasant Hill, Jim Keith of Oakland, Bruce and Dawn Finch of Roseburg, Chris Grum and Michael Fromme of Springfield and Kay Irish of Veneta.

Frank Gosar and Gil Harrison are among the potters scheduled to give demon- strations.

In the clay play area, potters will help kids enjoy hands-on clay experiences.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 11 (Mother's Day). Admission is free.

From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday there will be live music, a no-host bar and a best of show award presentation.

During Ceramics Showcase, metalworkers, handweavers and glass guilds will be holding their annual shows in nearby halls.
