Popular music festival returns to Motherwell.

A popular Motherwell music festival will return to the town in March following its huge success last year.
Motherwell Makes Music is a multi-venue festival which aims to promote the best local musicians, as well as some of Scotland's hottest emerging talent.
The festival will return for its second year on March 16 and will run until March 18.
Following a successful initiation in 2017, budding musicians will take to various venues across the Lanarkshire town this March.
Organiser Derek Watson promised that if the initial year was a success, he would Rep at aim for Motherwell Makes Music to become an annual event and he is staying true to his word.
He said: "Last year was a fantastic success so it would be a real shame, not only for the musicians but for the local community, if the event wasn't to return in 2018.
"I believe we really got it right with the line-up in 2017 and the local people turned out in support.
"We've got a few bands returning that went down a treat last year and have also added some really exciting acts to the bill.
"All going to plan, this year could be even better than last!" Last year the likes of Bloodlines, The Dunts, A Sudden Burst of Colour, ULTRAS, The Banter Thiefs, Holy Pistol Club, The Vistas, Caulder, The Austins, The Un-Romantics, The Ranzas, Homeward James and Tommy McGuire all played in the different venues for the festival.
Hundreds turned out to support each act and the atmosphere overall was fantastic.
Motherwell MSP Clare Adamson even went along to the festival last year. She said: "It was a pleasure to get along to Motherwell Makes Music!" MP for Motherwell and Wishaw Marion Fellows also showed her support for the event by tweeting: "I am delighted to have heard from a number of people just how fantastic the Motherwell Makes Music festival was" The venues have still to be announced, so keep an eye on the website in the next few weeks.
Motherwell Makes Music organisers are also looking for new upcoming artists to play at the event.
To apply, just email firstname.lastname@example.org with a brief description of the artist and a link to music before Monday, February 12.
