Poppy lives through train horror.

Byline: ADAM ASPINALL reporters@dailyrecord.co.uk

A LABRADOR has been hailed Britain's luckiest dog after she survived being run over by four trains.

Poppy chased a deer on to a railway line while walking with her owner.

Both animals were hit by a passenger train and the deer was killed instantly - but Poppy survived.

She then lay still in the middle of the tracks as three other trains passed overhead, all missing her.

Poppy suffered broken ribs and vets in Westbury, Wiltshire, said things looked "very dark" for her - but she pulled through and was sent home within a week.

Network Rail said a train driver had reported seeing something on the line the day Poppy was hit. Trains were told to run with caution and an operations manager found the injured dog 20 minutes later.
