Pop judge Simon is a US flop.
POP Idol judge Simon Cowell is already hated by the American public - and they have only seen him for two minutes, it emerged yesterday.
He is one of three judges on the new US show American Idol, along with singers Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson.
The show was previewed on the Entertainment Tonight show where Cowell, 42, quickly found himself hated.
Although the segment lasted just two minutes, the record producer was labelled Mr Nasty by Americans and called the male version of Weakest Link host Anne Robinson.
One TV critic said: "He's just another pompous know-it-all from across the pond.
"I hope the show is a flop so he can get the next plane out of here and he can take Anne Robinson with him."
American Idol is based on the Pop Idol format which proved highly successful with viewers.
Will Young finally emerged as the winner of the series.
