Poor performance KE gets many complaints.
Many Karachiites complain on KElectric's attitude for resolving problems like hours long load shedding PMT faults excessive billing and wire snapping. Complaints remain unheeded for days. KE officials at Customer Centers usually do not positively respond to complaints or give only stereo answer that work is being done to remove faults and power would be restored shortly'. Nor do they give us complaint numbers. It seems to be their habit added some. As to complaints on excessive billing they are told to deposit the `inflated' bills and excessive amount would be adjusted in their next bill/s. Residents of a part of Nazimabad said they had no electricity for nearly all day recently as KE staff took several hours to rectify a cable fault and that too after many complaints had been lodged. Complaints of inordinate delays in rectifying breakdowns were received from some other localities also. However KE claims all its Customer Care Centers are working satisfactorily and act quickly on complaints.
It is angry protest demonstrations over nonavailability of electricity that obstruct repairs and delay restoration of power supply.
