Pool's a bream day out for Rob.

A METHOD feeder and a boilie on the hook was a winning combination for Rob Wiltshire, from Trethomas, when he took part in the Sensas League match on Meadow Pool at Riverside Fishery and netted 23lb 9oz of bream. Clive Roberts, from Roath, finished second with 17lb 12oz and fellow Cardiff angler Clive Branson third with 17lb 1oz.

The next day at the fishery it was Branson in first place when he used a sliding float and maggots to catch 24lb 8oz of roach, perch and small bream in the Sunday Open.

Tony Birt, from Blackwood, was close behind with 23lb 12oz and Ebbw Vale angler Dennis O'Leary third with 15lb 15oz.

Small fish kept everyone busy in the Pontymister Open on the canal at Cross Keys.

Cardiff Nomads member Mike Martin Davies drew a peg at Hall's Road and turned it into a winner by fishing with punched bread and catching 2lb 5oz of roach.

Host Club member Tim Jones had some small bream to go with roach and make up a second best 1lb 14oz and Phil Thomas, from Cwmcarn, was third with 1lb 9oz.

Chris Morgan, from Tongwynlais, float fished maggots and caught 15lb of rudd and roach and four carp to 6lb when he fished the coarse lake at Sevenoaks Fishery.

Peter Phillips, from Pontyclun, netted six carp to 10lb as did Tony Davies while Cardiff anglers Peter Thomas and Ian Davies landed carp to 8lb.

Peter Williams used worms as bait to catch a specimen 3.5lb perch when he fished the Pleasure Lake at White Springs Fishery.

David George used feeder tackle to beat the wind on Willow Pool at Trefaldu Fishery and catch 30lb of roach, rudd and bream.
