Polyethylene Terephthalate.

Caption: Heineken deploys PET--Heineken U.S.A. will launch a national pilot program to introduce Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) packaging for its Heineken and Amstel Light products. The company is scheduled to introduce PET packaging for both brands this spring. According to Heineken, 16-ounce Heineken and Amstel Light PET bottles will be available in concession account venues such as stadiums, outdoor amphitheaters, racetracks and parks. The test period will run from April to December 2003 "PET bottles will help increase Heineken's visibility in stadiums and arenas," said Maarten Kruijtzer, Heineken U.S.A.'s director, for on-premise national accounts.
