Politics - Saadeh: We refuse to transfer cabinet's powers to parliament.

NNA - 31/05/2011 - Member of parliament Samer Saadeh told Voice of Lebanon Voice of Freedom and Dignity on Tuesday that the Phalange party refuses to transfer the powers of the cabinet to the parliament.

Our party supports holding a legislative session to discuss livelihood matters and ratify draft laws which interest the citizens, the MP said.

But Saadeh warned that if this session which was set by Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri on June 8 is aimed to transfer the powers of the cabinet to the parliament then the party will firmly reject it.

The MP was also very critical of the parliamentary session yesterday which was designed to discuss the controversy over the telecommunication building.

What happened yesterday demonstrates the total breakdown of the state due to the tampering of the laws and constitutions over the past few years, Saadeh argued.

He stressed that his party has constantly warned in the past against manipulating the constitution but no one listened to us.

The MP indicated that the rules of the political game have changed and for this reason it is only natural this putrefaction to take place.
