Politicians, Swatis laud PM announcement of construction of Chakdara-Kalam Road.
PESHAWAR -- The politicians and people of Malakand division and Swat district here Saturday lauded the announcement of Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif regarding construction of mega Chakdara-Kalam Road that would help generate economic activities
esides bolstering tourism in Khyber Pakthunkhwa especially in Swat valley.
Former Provincial Minister Wajid Ali Khan who belonged to Swat told reporter the people lauded the announcement of the Prime Minister for construction of this mega road. The construction of over 100 kilometers Chakdara-Kalam Road would promote tourism in Swat valley besides
enhancing connectivity and generate employment opportunities for hundreds of thousands of people.
Attaullah Khan, a resident of Saidu Sharif, Swat said that Prime Minister has won the hearts and minds of hundreds of thousands of Swat people for announcing construction of much awaited Kalam-Chakadara road.
He said this would help address problems of people and bussinessmen while going from Chakdara Dir Lower district to Kalam Swat in addition to significant reduction in distance by saving time.
He said businessmen associated with trout fishing, furniture, woolen garments, embroidery of child garments, hand grafts and hotel industries would be largely benefited from this project.
Ataullah Khan said construction of this mega road was the old demand of people of KP that was fulfilled by the Prime Minister today as it has made happy the residents of Malakand, Dir Lower, Swat and Shangla districts.
Abdus Samad Khan, an elder of tehsil Barikot Swat when contacted also welcomed Prime Minister's announcement for construction of Chakdara-Kalam Road. Inspite of busy official engagement, the Prime Minister visited Tehsil Barikot Swat where he distributed compensation cheques among earthquake victims that reflected his deep love and affection with people of Malakand division and Swat district.
The extended and frequent visits of Prime Minister to the quake hit Shangla, Dir Lower, Swat, Bajaur Agency, Peshawar soon after the devastated Oct 26 earthquake to personally oversee and review relief operations, showed how much he is concerned towards problems of quake victims, he added.
The frequent visits of the Prime Minister to the remote quake hit areas of KP and Fata have immensely helped minimized the sufferings of quake victims as it has put the officials of district administration,
Government building departments and other relief operations on toes to deliver for speedy help of the affectees.
He said Federal Govt under the dynamic leadership of the Prime Minister was working tirelessly for development of KP referring to Hazara Motorway and now announcement of Chakdara-Kalam road in contrast to the hallow slogans of PTI of building new KP.
He said Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf tall slogans of new KP were fully exposed as the party has failed to utilize development funds fully under ADP since coming into power. Thus, people of KP were deprived from development as uplift works remained standstill in the province problems of masses increased immensely.
