Politically Incorrect: What the Dickens is going on here?

Byline: Chris Buckland

LIFE was one happy dollop of suet pudding for Oliver Twist compared to the new regime in the House of Commons cafeteria.

When a long-established researcher had the temerity to ask for more slices of potato she was told stiffly: "That is your full portion."

As if that wasn't bad enough prices have risen by up to 100 per cent, while those strictly-enforced portions have grown smaller. A slight advance on the official inflation figures of 2.7 per cent. It looks like a twist, Oliver.
