Politically Incorrect: Mayor Ken turns again...for No 10.

NO wonder Ken Livingstone was desperate to be London mayor. He made it clear last week that this is just a first stage to taking over from Mr Blair.

He had the privilege, he said, "to try to do what Labour could be doing nationally".

And to help him, he has been able to design his own political machine at the voters expense, with knocking on for pounds 1million a year to be spent on policy advisers and backroom girls and boys.

Livingstone? We should call him Mayor Steppingstone.
