Polish man's fifty half marathons; challenge.
A RUNNING addict trying to complete 50 half marathons in just 10 months is on his way to Belfast.
Polish fitness fanatic Mieczyslaw Jurochnik is to take part in the city's first event of this type as he battles to complete his challenge.
But the 47-year-old told the Daily Mirror getting from one half event to the next is just as tough as the running.
He said: "So far I have finished 28 half marathons so I know that finishing 50 in 10 months will not be a problem. Anybody who runs five or six times a week covering 40 to 60 miles can do it.
"The real problem is the logistics, getting from one place to another and how to organise all of that."
Mieczyslaw added he wanted to do the challenge to "test myself".
He said he has been doing each run in around 1hr 45mins but that "includes mountain half marathons".
The Belfast City Half Marathon on September 22 will be Mieczyslaw's 45th race with the final one on December 7 in Co Cork.
