Policies matter.

SIR - Could Llew Smith explain what Labour Party policies he actually agrees with?

I accept that any supporter of a political party is not going to agree with every policy of that respective party, but I would expect a paid representative of a political party to support the majority of their policies. The people of Blaenau Gwent have loyally supported the Labour Party because of the policies, not individual representatives.

Every social benefit enjoyed by the constituents of Blaenau Gwent has been delivered by the Labour Party, such as the NHS, social security, employment protection and its recent commitment to the elderly with the introduction of the pension credit, heating allowance, free transport and free TV licences etc.

I hope Llew still recognises and continues to support the Labour Party and the people who have loyally supported him. A Blaenau Gwent opposition MP languishing on the Tory benches would make us the laughing stock of British politics.
