Policewoman shot dead in Greshk.

LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): A policewoman has been gunned down inside her residence in the Greshk district of southern Helmand province on Tuesday, security official said.

Abdul Ahad Chopan, the police spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Qandi -- the victim -- was killed early in morning. She was posted to Greshk a year ago.

But Bibi Layeqa, a member of the provincial council from the district, said Qandi was shot dead in front of her house when she was going to office.

She said the 40 years old was a mother of five sons and three daughters. Qandi is the fourth policewoman killed in the last seven months in Helmand.
