Police seek Jeep in garage ramming.

AUBURN - Police are on the lookout for a white Jeep Grand Cherokee involved in intentionally ramming into a garage door and causing damage to the garage connected to a home before driving off.

Police Chief Andrew J. Sluckis said a vehicle rammed into a garage door at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at 1 Victoria Drive #3. The vehicle went into the garage and struck a set of stairs that lead to the residence, he said.

Chief Sluckis said it appears that the vehicle backed out of the garage, striking the garage door a second time. Evidence at the scene suggests that the vehicle stopped in the driveway prior to going through the garage door, Chief Sluckis said, leading police to believe that the incident was not accidental.

A neighbor witnessed a white Jeep Grand Cherokee with a piece of wood stuck to its rear bumper leaving the scene. Police believe the jeep sustained both front and rear-end damage, Chief Sluckis said.

Debra N. Sarkisian, the residence's owner, was not home at the time of the incident. The town's building inspector is slated to inspect the home to make sure it is still structurally sound, Mr. Sluckis said.

Anyone with information should call Officer Eric K. Dyson Sr. at (508) 832-7777.
