Police officers, judge receive life threatening SMS from Ahrar ul Hind in Benazir assassination case.

RAWALPINDI -- Report has been registered in different police stations and investigations have been started into the life threatening SMS received by five police officers linked to Benazir Bhutto assassination case, former CPO Rawalpindi Saud Aziz and a judge.

Ahrar ul Hind has been used as sender name in these SMS. Sources said inspector Kashif Riaz, police inspector Ilyas, inspector Ejaz Shah and inspector Azhar Shah had received SMS some days back from unknown persons carrying messages posing life threats to them. These police officers are associated with the investigation and recovery process in the murder case of former Prime Minister. Name of former CPO Rawalpindi, Saud Aziz and a judge are also mentioned in the SMS.

The intelligence agency has recommended for tightening the security of these police officers and judge.

The preliminary investigations revealed that SMS had been sent through a website providing free SMS service instead of any mobile phone. The security of the police officers who have received life threats has been stepped up.

When contacted SSP Operation Rawalpindi, Mian Maqbool Ahmad said investigation into the matter of life threatening SMS sent to police officers is underway.
